However, as times become tougher, it is getting harder to find sponsors outside of the Club.  As a result, this year we would like to trial a new sponsorship initiative. The Club is now asking each team, juniors and seniors, to provide the names of five (5) or more $100 sponsors.  Each team will be responsible for identifying the sponsors, making the approach and collecting their sponsorship monies.

We believe this is a good opportunity for a wider range of people to become involved in supporting the Club at a very competitive level.  $100 is not a big investment, but we are certain there is value in advertising on our website and being a part of our 280+ current Club members (and that doesn’t include partners and friends).

For the sponsors’ $100 investment in the Club, they will receive:

• Advertising in our newly created website in the Business Directory which includes company name and details.
• An invite to our sponsors evening.
• $10 bar card to be used at sponsors evening.

The funds raised from these sponsors will go towards providing better facilities and equipment for all our players including new hockey goals, training shirts, balls, goalie gear and an umpiring training course.

We encourage all of you to think about possible sponsors for your team.  A good place to start is friends and family and of course your team mates. Plus, there are a number of small business owners in the Club.  And if you would like to approach your employer, we can provide you with a letter and tax invoice.

In order to ensure that each sponsor gets maximum value for their dollar, we would request all sponsors names on the website by 30 April 2012.

We raised $1500 for our club funds – well done all who helped, and thanks to IGA Wembley and Baker’s Delight, Floreat Forum who contributed to our profits by providing a discount on our supplies.

On Thursday evenings there will be training on the grass at the Newman Sports Complex from 6.30pm.

The AGM is a great time for everyone to get together and say hello before the start of the season and there will be an opportunity to talk about some of our goals for 2012.
