Training Times for 2015 season

Turf training for our Senior teams is as follows:

Men’s squad on the turf at UWA on Mondays from 6.30pm. Half turf from 7 -8 and full turf 8 – 9.00pm.
Fitness sessions on Thursdays from 6.15pm at Newman Sports Complex.  For more info contact Alwyn on 0430 396 238

Women’s squad on turf at UWA from 6.30pm. Half turf from 7.00 to 8.00pm. Thursday training at the Club.  For more details contact Rachel on 0422 376 629

We always welcome new players, whatever their age or ability, so encourage your friends, colleagues or family members to come along and join our ranks.

Junior turf training for J11/12 Boys and Girls at UWA Turf on Monday from 6.00pm to 7.00pm

Junior turf training for J7/8 Boys and Girls at Hale Turf on Monday from 5.15pm to 6.15pm

Training on the Grass for Juniors will be as follows:

Mondays: Minkey at Newman Sports Complex from 3.45pm from Term 2

Wednesdays:  Training on the grass at Newman J7/8 Boys  4.00 – 5.00pm & J11/12 Girls from 5.30pm.

Thursdays: Minkey at Holy Rosary School from 3.45pm From Term 2; J7/8 Girls 4.30 – 6.00pm &
J11/12 Boys training on the grass at Newman from 5.15pm to 6.15pm

First Club Night of 2015 – Thursday 9th April

The Senior Season begins on the weekend of 10/11/12th April so come down to the Club rooms from 6.30pm on Thursday 9th for our first Club Night of the year. There will be a briefing on the new rules which come into force this season, uniform sales, announcement of teams, captains and team reps – plus we will be serving hot beef rolls. So come on down and support the club.

Junior Coaching Clinic For J9/10 and 11/12 Boys and Girls Sunday February 8th 4pm at Hale Turf

There will be a pre-season hockey skills clinic for our Boys and Girls J9/10 and J11/12 players on Sunday 8th Feb. This is a unique opportunity for you to improve your skills under the guidance of our top senior coaches and players from our top grades and best of all it is free!

From 4pm there will be various skills sessions which will consist of some basics on hitting, pushing, trapping etc. and also some more advanced skills such as drag flicking, overheads, slap passing and alternate tackling techniques. followed by some mini games. The senior men are then playing an internal scratch match from approximately 6pm while a sausage sizzle will be held for participating juniors so that they can watch the men’s game. $5 charge for sausage sizzle. Parents welcome as well. Junior players must register their interest by emailing or phoning Rob Reid 0412887067

Registration Day Saturday 14 February 2015

The Newman Knights Hockey Club will be holding its Registration Day on Saturday 14th February 2015 at the Newman Sports Complex, Tuscany Way, Churchlands.

Come down between 10.00am and 1.00pm to register.   Senior members are able to register online and for our Junior members there will be credit card facilities available for Mum and Dad to pay on the day.  Junior Members must register by completing a signed registration form which will be available on the day.  A copy will be available for download from the website shortly.

Uniform sales for shirts, socks, club shirts, jackets and hats will also be available on the day.

When registering, please also consider whether you can help out the Club by becoming a sponsor, member of our business directory or 100 Club.  Any additional support you can provide to the Club is greatly appreciated.
